Our mission

Financial inclusion starts with everyday lives

UffPay was built for families who keep two countries connected. We want to make supporting loved ones easier through clearer remittances, useful digital tools and financial education, especially for people underserved by traditional banking. Our work starts in Guatemala, with a commitment to bring that value to more communities as we grow.

What we build on

AI investment, built into the product

UffPay Tech invests continuously in applied AI where it changes the outcome: financial crime prevention, identity verification with document capture and facial recognition, and customer service. The same engineering team that builds the wallet builds and operates these systems, with BlackEagle, our in-house compliance and risk platform, at the center.

Data Security

Identity verification, anti-money-laundering controls and transaction monitoring help protect the platform. BlackEagle AI supports the team in reviewing unusual activity and handling exceptions.

What AI actually changes for you

AI helps organize identity and transaction information, prioritize risk alerts and answer routine questions in your language. Its purpose is useful assistance, with human review for exceptions and account-specific decisions.

Local understanding, lasting inclusion

Our strategy combines local experience and partner relationships with a commitment to financial education. We aim to understand the barriers families face and make financial tools clearer, more useful and easier to navigate in each community we serve.

Trust architecture

BlackEagle: the trust layer behind every transfer

BlackEagle AI is UffPay’s internally developed compliance and risk platform. It connects customer information, payment activity, rules and AI-assisted analysis so teams can investigate relevant signals in context. It works alongside external identity, screening and processor services.

Verified identity before the first transfer

Every UffPay account starts with a verified identity. We capture and validate your official document, run Guatemala RENAP identity workflows, and complete customer due diligence before the account can move money. Only verified users can transact, so the person on the other side of your transfer has been checked too.

Reporting and regulatory posture

BlackEagle supports applicable compliance workflows; it does not replace the responsible team or guarantee that every risk is detected. PCI DSS compliance work is in progress. AI effectiveness is assessed through alert quality, customer outcomes and operational review.

Our journey

From build to borderless

  1. Platform

    Technology built in-house

The wallet and BlackEagle AI connect with specialist providers. Fiserv/Clover supports U.S. processing, NeoNet supports Guatemala processing, and Dock supports the card program.

  2. July 2025

    Friends-and-family testing

Wallet testing began with a limited group. This was a product milestone, separate from the full commercial rollout.

  3. Today

    Wallet available in Guatemala

The iOS and Android wallet supports remittances, instant and free local transfers between UffPay users in Guatemala, and USD/GTQ exchange. Guatemala remains the current operating focus.

  4. Rollout

    Physical cards rolling out

UffPay Visa prepaid cards are rolling out, with Dock integration complete and 1,000 physical cards printed for distribution. Activation and use depend on issuer, network and customer requirements. Apple Pay and Google Wallet support is undergoing a separate certification process.

  5. In progress

    Digital-wallet certification

Apple Pay and Google Wallet certification is in progress. Completion is estimated before the end of 2026, subject to certification and partner approvals.

  6. Next markets

    A sequenced regional plan

Panama may precede the Dominican Republic, which remains an intended market. The order and launch dates are not final; every entry depends on local requirements, partners and operating readiness.
